On September 27th, presenter and the king of quick-fire puns Tim Vine announced 2013’s winners of the Plastics Industry Awards (PIAs) at the glittering gala event at the London Hilton on Park Lane. With around 15 categories from materials manufacturing design to environmental performance, the PIAs recognizes top-tier UK plastics manufacturers.
Events director at Crain Communications, Steve Crowhurst, who also organises the PIAs, said: “The PIAs are designed to emphasise the breadth of talent, product and service provision throughout the sector, not least in the area of supplier partnerships and what it means to work with valued customers on given projects.” The judging panel included Charmaine Bowers, Operations Manager at Polymer Training Innovation Centre, Dr Robin Kent, managing director at Tangram Technology and many others.
“Engel UK and Polymermedics partnership resulted in an unparalleled rebuilding of the manufacturing plant”
The PIAs ceremony is a central event of each and every manufacturing year. That is why we are honoured to announce that Polymermedics’ partner, Engel UK was nominated for Supplier Partnership – Prime Machinery award as a recognition for achievements in collaboration with Polymermedics UK. When at the beginning of the year we started to discuss plant upgrade, Engel UK was determined to be the most suitable project partner. Their decades-long experience and diverse expertise with high-end medical device customers was exactly what we needed to increase capacity and upgrade the efficiency of the core products’ manufacturing. Going forward, the released capacity would then be used in the development of the new businesses.
